Exhibition Information

James Lewis (b. 1986, Croydon, UK) is an artist currently based in Vienna, Austria. His practice explores the rupture between empirical data and embodied knowledge, investigating how statistical language, sensory memory, and environmental detritus shape our lived experience. He is interested in the systems, both bureaucratic, architectural and biological, that quantify, categorise and often misrepresent human subjectivity.

He has exhibited at internationally renowned institutions including: MassArt Art Museum (MAAM), Boston, US 2025; Leopold Museum, Austria 2024; Kunstverein Salzburg, Austria 2022; Fondazione Benetton, Treviso, Italy 2022, Mostyn, Wales 2022, Capc Musée d’art contemporain de Bordeaux, France 2021. He completed his studies within the Fine Art Department at the RCA, London 2010 – 2012 and is currently a Lecturer in Fine Art at The University of Arts Linz, Austria and an Associate Mentor at Conditions, in his hometown Croydon, UK.

Abbas Zahedi (b. 1984, London, UK) is an artist working at the intersections of sonic and sculptural forms, exploring systems of care, thresholds of experience, and the social architectures of our time. His practice has been described as a form of dissociative realism — moving between intimacy and estrangement and attuned to forms of meaning that sit beyond the purely material.

A former medic with training in psychiatry, Zahedi holds an MA in Contemporary Photography and Philosophy from Central Saint Martins. Recent awards include the Stanley Picker Fellowship 2024, Artangel: Making Time 2023, Frieze Artist Award 2022, Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award 2021, and the Khadijah Saye Memorial Scholarship 2017. He is an Associate Lecturer at the RCA, London, and has taught widely in the UK and internationally.
